Imagine going out to dinner and not having a dessert of your choice like atta halwa. Or, what if you eat at a restaurant and don’t finish your meal with something sweet? Certainly not! Everyone can’t resist the desserts at any meal. Furthermore, indulging in a sweet treat is never a bad time. However, even though we love savoring our favorite desserts, some refined ingredients may harm our health. For example, the most processed form of wheat, refined flour (maida), is used in most deserts and is considered relatively unhealthy. This is primarily due to the fact that the finished product lacks all of the beneficial wheat components. Atta, also known as whole wheat flour, is a healthier and superior alternative to maida.
In every Indian household, atta is a common ingredient. Rotis, parathas, and puris are all made with it. Whole atta is also the main ingredient in a lot of desserts.

- Atta Halwa

It’s a simple, effective, and tasty recipe and hence, my favorite. There is no need for a special occasion; you can eat this atta dessert whenever you want.
Panjiri is a well-known sweet from Punjab that is made with dry fruits. Individually fried cashews, almonds, pistachios, foxtail nuts, melon seeds, gondh, flax seeds, and dry coconut are ground into a coarse powder. The mixture is then roasted with ghee, rava, and whole wheat flour. It has nutmeg, dry ginger, cardamom powder, and sugar added to sweeten it.
- Whole Wheat Almond Squares
These are little cakes made with whole wheat flour, and almonds called Whole Wheat Almond Squares. These cakes are great as a snack for tea or as a dessert for dinner. They’re small and easy to consume and don’t even fill your stomach to the brim. You can store them in boxes for later consumption.
